A little about Little Pleasures Coffeehouse

Marisa Javier, owner
Little Pleasures Coffeehouse in Hillsboro, Kansas, has established its niche as a unique and friendly local favorite. Owner Marisa Javier opened the coffeehouse on September 5, 2003, after relocating to Hillsboro from her lifetime home of Oahu, Hawaii. “I needed a job, and Hillsboro needed a coffeehouse,” she says.

But Marisa brought the taste of Hawaii with her: she uses coffee beans from the Islands in all of her freshly brewed coffees and espresso-based drinks. Additionally, LP specializes in authentic cappuccinos and on-site baked goods, as well as a wide selection Jelly Belly candies.

The Snicker’s Cappuccino and Chai Tea Latte are among the popular beverages at LP, as well as Java Chip, Cookies & Cream and six other blended iced coffees. The Fruit Tea Blasts are another popular local favorite, including the Mango Madness and Peach Pizzazz flavors.

To compliment your beverage, LP offers a wide selection of freshly baked goods made on-site, including almond biscotti, pecan bars, carrot cake, triple chocolate brownies, cookies and a variety of scones.

Lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The selections includes sandwiches, a chicken Caesar salad, mesquite chicken wraps, weekly homemade soup and salad specials, and more. Saturday mornings also offer a warm breakfast of biscuits and gravy.

“I want people to feel like this is their place,” Marisa says.
